to introduce residents of Lowell, MA to time banking as a complimentary alternative to the cash economy and to create opportunities for community members to connect and share resources, skills and services throughout the Greater Merrimack Valley Region. We build connections between community members through our time bank program and by organizing and hosting regular community events like community swaps, potlucks, community workshops, and our annual skill share. In 2014, members of the Merrimack Valley Time Exchange program exchanged more than 500 hours between members, connecting low-income residents of diverse neighborhoods with young professionals, artists, and other members of the community. In 2015, the program is focused on smart growth and improving access to services for those members of the community who will benefit the most from a time based cash alternative.
