The purpose of the Plant for Growth community garden is to create a model of academic engagement, collaborative community building, and shared learning, in addition to reducing food security and increasing intake of fresh vegetables. The garden is also utilized as a tool to teach basic nutrition, horticulture, and cooking classes.
