The intention of our initative is to bridge the gap in Dorchester, Mattapan, and Roxbury between working class families of color and small local farm start-ups here in NewEngland.  The Seeds of Change network of 30 families operate within the Italian "Gruppi di Acquisto Solidale" model,  working towards taking research which that states "families of color in our areas lack the education and interest to fully participate in these new hyper local food models".  It is our perspective to address and identify an approach wherein lies resolution based more on cultural perspective, access, and affordability, rather than a misconception "working class families of color fail to understand the important connection between organic, local, family, health".
