Our Purpose

Community Garden Connections (CGC) is a project developed by faculty and students in the Environmental Studies Department at Antioch University New England (AUNE) made possible by a gift from the Rashti Foundation. This generous donation secures funding for community garden sites at local agencies that provide programming for children and youth, low-income families, seniors, and others in the Monadnock region. Since January 2011, CGC staff has facilitated implementation of 56 raised-bed gardens at 9 social service agencies in Keene, NH. In 2013, CGC started managing a 1-acre garden plot in Westmoreland, NH for Cheshire County, with all food donated to the local food kitchen and CGC partners. CGC builds capacity to grow food and develop a more resilient community where everyone has access to local, affordable, fresh food. CGC provides those most under-served in our community with nutritious, affordable food and healthy outdoor landscapes.
