The Montpelier Parks Commission formed a working group chaired by a Commissioner and composed of several concerned citizens. The group was assigned the task of researching the issue of dog waste in Hubbard Park and developing a plan to address the problem. As a part of our research, we discovered that the issue of dog waste extended beyond Hubbard Park. We proposed to install several high visibility waste management stations in Hubbard Park and several selected downtown areas of Montpelier. The city of Montpelier has agreed to pay for the initial costs of the stations. The group is now working to secure funding for the annual maintenance and upkeep of the stations.
