Our Purpose

to protect groundwater long-term by developing and supporting Stop the East-West Corridor (STEWC), a grassroots coalition based primarily in rural areas of central and northern Maine along the proposed route for a trucking/energy/natural resources corridor proposed by Cianbro corporation. STEWC's goal is to stop the East-West Corridor by demonstrating that the project is not in the interest of Maine and that Mainers do not want it. STEWC is dedicated to raising awareness, fostering open communication, and demanding transparency about the proposed corridor. STEWC supports local community resistance groups and individuals by providing organizing and educational resources and being a central communication hub to maximize local efforts.
