Piti Theatre's aim is to create new work for the stage which lends itself to the happiness of artists and audiences. Within this context, we have been drawn to creating work with environmental themes and catalyzing audience inspiration and media attention to help communities and schools take concrete steps towards sustainability. Piti Theatre Company was founded in 2004 by American playwright/actor Jonathan Mirin and Swiss choreographer, dancer and visual artist Godelieve Richard. Piti (pronounced "pea-tea") is an ancient Indian (Pali) word which can be translated as joy or rapture.
