Our Purpose

Our mission is to deepen our community's connection to nature, our food system, and each other. We focus on three intertwined program areas:1.   Providing farm-based educational opportunities for learning about sustainable growing and nutrition.2.   Increasing access to healthy produce for those in our community who experience food insecurity.3.   Building community through volunteerism. We provide fresh, healthy, sustainably grown produce to the Needham Community Council Food Pantry, serving over 300 income-eligible families a month. Our Mobile Market distributes our produce free of charge at four Needham Housing Authority sites. We offer multi-generational educational opportunities to the community, including gardening classes and youth educational programming on the farm.  Scholarships are available for income-eligible individuals or families to participate in educational programming. We welcome volunteers throughout the growing season to help with all aspects of our work on the farm. Volunteers are critical to our operations and learn about sustainable growing and food justice. We have volunteers of all ages, and often work with youth to complete Community Service Learning hours. We also accept volunteer groups on the farm to learn about our work and help us with projects.
