The mission of the Friends of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (LVRT) is to support the development, maintenance and promotion of the LVRT as a public resource offering a tranquil and scenic year-round multi-use recreation and transportation corridor; and to especially represent the interests of non-motorized users. The Friends of the LVRT was chartered and incorporated as a 501c3 in the summer of 2006 with the following goals: Represent non-motorized users Help raise the required local 20% match Develop data on the economic benefits of the LVRT for the region Promote the trail far and wide Recruit volunteers for promotion, fundraising, and trail maintenance
