to raise not just consciousness (about the problems with wood, VT's favorite energy source), but also funds for our lawsuit. We are neighbors who first joined together to oppose Goddard College's proposed wood chip furnace. (The college has 130 acres, but it proposed to site the plant, with its 35-foot stack and plume, right next to us at the one and only spot on campus that abuts residential neighbors.) We did research together, presented an Act 250 case together, campaigned in the community together, and in the process learned just how un-green this plant will be and how serious the potential health risks to the town. Unfortunately, the Act 250 Dist. Commision ruled against us. So we are now appealing in Environmental Court. But here we can no longer fend for ourselves. Luckily, we have found a lawyer, Erick Titrud, who will represent us pro bono, but we still have to pay for transcripts, experts, and so on.
