to aid the citizens of Keene, New Hampshire, to face the growing threats to our community's quality of life due to the interconnected challenges of peak oil, climate change, and an unstable and unsustainable global economy; and 2) to foster a dynamic community organizing process that unleashes the collective genius of our citizens, businesses, non-profits and government to transition to a more resilient, sustainable, stable, and just local economy and way of life. TKTF was established in 2010 as the first Transition Initiative in New Hampshire inspired by the International Transition model which seeks to transition local communities from oil dependency to local resilience. We are a mature group of well-connected individuals in the greater Keene area committed to a vision of our community which is environmentally sustainable, socially just, and spiritually fulfilling.
