Our Purpose

to support, monitor and promote a healthy and sustainable environment through good stewardship of local resources which includes water usage, land usage, and energy development. Our efforts include the opposing of energy development that is harmful to the environment, not safe for the community or inefficient in output. Our current goal is to oppose a proposed 35 megawatt biomass plant to be built in the North Springfield Vermont community. We feel air emissions, water run off, particulate matter is unhealthy for the population. In addition, the excess truck traffic has not been taken into consideration in regard to air emissions, proximity of homes to the roads and excessive use of water. These factors make this energy development project harmful to our community.
