The Stark Garden group is engaging students in opportunities to learn about community gardening, diversity, nutrition, civics, sustainability and volunteerism. The group is helping to develop the next generation of youth leaders and conservationists. We aim to help provide a sustainable outdoor classroom to help teachers bring the curriculum to life across all subject areas. We hope to create a healthy environment for pollinators and other area wildlife, and to educate about the impact that invasive species has on our habitat. Food from our garden will benefit families who otherwise may have limited access to affordable, fresh fruits and vegetables, and we hope to donate part of our harvest to area food banks and soup kitchens.
