The Art House, Inc.
Our Purpose
Our mission is: to cultivate the creative interests of youth and adults through hands-on creative activities, in a wide spectrum of the arts, while supporting our local arts economy. For the past seven-years we have provided a huge variety of creative and cultural experiences. Our programs vary from traditional crafts such as basket weaving and fiber arts to: ceramics, painting, drawing, music, writing and theater. The Art House now teaches a variety of after-school programs at 4 different elementary schools and serves a little over 200 children a year. We also provide free or low cost community events, these include: music, dance, clowning, poetry, community meals (at the Backyard oven) and much more. Our organization is made up of passionate individuals who are a part of the regional community. The members of the core group are:Ceilidh Galloway - Kane, Director of The Art House, Kait Bacon: Americorps VISTA for The Art House, Peggy Sapphire: poet and small business owner, Laura Britton: Bank teller, Cori Jean Sanders fire department representativ & small business owner, Vasilios Glestos:community member, Patty Oliver-Smith Poet. This core group was brought together to support the organizations community engagement and to develop a series of systems in order provide important philosophical and educational conversations. They are dedicated to promoting arts and cultural experiences in our community.
