Our Purpose
Advocating for public health, public safety and environmental protection from the risks posed by the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth, MA.. Pilgrim has been operating in Plymouth, MA. for 41 years and was relicensed in 2012 to operate for an additional 20 years. Pilgrim Coalition, through its 27 member organizations, alerts, informs, educates and organizes has residents in the communities surrounding the Pilgrim Nuclear Facility to address the risks associated with the plant, and what we as individuals and citizens can be done to reduce those risks.Most who have learned about the state of disrepair, malfunctions and waste buildup at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station realize that it is time for it to be retired. The Coalition's long-term goal is to have the plant decommissioned as safely and economically way possible. Our short-term goal is to raise the public voice and pressure calling upon the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, elected public officials and Entergy, the parent company, address and fix the current mechanical and management problems as recommended by out side experts and regulators.
