(1) To transform the area around Exit 1 at Brattleboro into a beautiful, welcoming, gateway place that will both attract travelers and lift residents’ spirits. This gateway will celebrate both Vermont and Brattleboro, highlighting ways we care about and treasure our landscape’s beauty, our community, the environment we depend on, our human-scale lifestyle, our practical and aesthetic creativity, our history and other values we live by. (2) To encourage and lead all town residents to join in taking care of our town’s landscape and growing its beauty, with the recognition that a town’s beautification is the concern, responsibility, and joy of all its people. (3) To strengthen our community as our work with our landscape brings us closer together and deepens our appreciation of all we have done and can do in support of one another.
