The Rockport Garden Club (RGC) has as its mission to aid in the protection of plants and native wildlife, to encourage civic planting and beautification, to participate in service to the community, and to promote cooperative work in ecology and education. The Invasive Plants Committee is a subgroup of the RGC formed in 2010 to address the growing problem of invasive plants on public and private lands within Rockport. An initial, small scale project treated Japanese Knotweed for six home owners whose land bordered a small brook.
