Our Purpose

To promote environmental justice and community ownership of land in Boston's Egleston Square neighborhood. ECO is a neighbor-led effort for sustainable urban agriculture and community green space and works with neighbors and community based organizations to identify neighborhood parcels suitable for food production and other permaculture projects. ECO aims to engage the area's diverse community, including youth, and seeks to host cultural events and workshops open to the general public.

Summary of Projects

ECO received a grant in 2011 to (1) Remediate lead in ground soil to below medium levels; (2) Expand food production space; (3) Engage neighbors in composting and food production activities.
