Our Purpose

to stop our neighborhood lumber mill from installing a biomass gasifier plant to generate electricity to both power the mill AND sell back to the grid. The mill is grandfathered as agriculturally-zoned. Grant money will be used to pay a lawyer recommended to us because of his experience in challenging biomass electrical-generation as an agricultural-use.

Summary of Projects

Spruce Corner Interest Group received a grant in 2011 to stop the siting of a proposed biomass gasifier plant to generate electricity that would affect air quality, noise and increased truck traffic.
