The North Shore Islamic Center is a community-based, non-profit, religious, educational, and social organization whose mission is to provide the communities of both Muslims and non-Muslims in the North Shore area with the opportunity to engage in productive activities. The Center aims at empowering the area's residents, particularly children of immigrant and poor families, by initiating practical group programs which will result in individual growth and development, and in collective benefits for the community. For instance, our Plant Planet Program, which is a youth gardening program, provides our children with invaluable skills, awareness of the environment, and nutritional education, in addition of produce for the families.
