Our Purpose

to accurately inform the public, to raise consciousness about benefits of retaining municipal (versus private) control of water resources and distribution system, to share in the civil discourse, and to participate in the decision making process.

Summary of Projects

The group received a grant in 2011 for general operating funds to continue its public outreach efforts. Currently the group is working on a Home Rule petition with local legislators that would prevent subsequent Council and Mayoral override of the control of water resources and require a referendum vote to any changes in ownership of the city's water.
