Transition Putney received a grant in 2011 to continue to form community partnerships with local organizations while highlighting the expertise already present in the community, such as the partnership with the Putney Co-Op and Putney Family Services. Some of the current, community driven initiatives include: Putney Farmers' Market, Putney Community Garden, Healing Directory, Local Farm Directory, Reskilling Workshops, Films, Community Forums, Working Groups (community arts, local currency, holistic health), Speakers and Educators, Localvore potlucks, Green House Project, Pub Nights for community recreation and informal communication, and an Artist in residency program. NEGEF funds were used to help support the opening of a small store-front office in the Village of Putney and some dollars toward a part time program coordinator.

Our Purpose
to engage the creativity, expertise and skill-sets of our friends and neighbors in the design of a sustainable, resilient, socially just and mutually supportive community. We collaborate to embrace the extraordinary challenge and opportunity of climate change, peak oil and economic instability. Together we reinvent, rethink, rebuild and celebrate our community and the world around us.
