The group received a grant in 2008 to continue efforts to encourage community involvement and to increase recycling without using or giving up our children's natural resources. The group continues to use air monitoring equipment to get data on local impacts.

Our Purpose
to raise awareness around the issue of trash disposal, be it landfills, incineration, or recycling. Additionally, our goal is to voice our concerns and influence the decision making process as it pertains to waste management issues. Another long distance goal is combining forces with similar groups state-wide in an effort to promote and maintain as close to a 100% recycling rate possible. This should the goal of all states, not only Maine's.
