Our Purpose

To bring together school, business, and governmental communities in order to conduct natural resource management in the Barton River watershed.

Summary of Projects

To partially fund the out-of-pocket expenses needed to restore the Barton River riparian zone between Orleans Village and Barton in Orleans County, Vermont.

The Community Planning project will involve local citizens, including students, in the hands-on tasks of stabilizing and revegetating a 750' section of the Barton River. This will be one of the first times in northern Vermont where a volunteer driven project follows the Vermont Department of Natural Resources best management practices in restoring an apiarian zone on agricultural lands.
