To support a public awareness and advocacy campaign to halt the mining of the town's landfill which has already causes environmental problems in the immediate neighborhood. While "mining" .. appears to be a viable solution for increasing dwindling landfill space, the environmental consequences, including air pollution and contaminated soils that the industry wants to deposit off-site, have not been adequately addressed in required environmental assessments. This groups will promote recycling while opposing this "techno-fix".,
