Our purpose is to make Providence a zero-waste city.  To date, we've succeeded in passing a plastic bag ban through City Council, and are actively engaged in a multi-level effort to institute a city-wide composting program. In addition, we've recently begun work on passing an ordinance to ban styrofoam in the city.
