Our Purpose

The Youth Success Project (YSP) is a board of young people who have experienced unaccompanied homelessness in the state of New Hampshire. We work to improve homeless serving systems in New Hampshire by making them more equitable and representative of the needs of the people they seek to serve. The YSP membership wants to prevent other young people from going through the same harmful experiences. The YSP believes that people with lived experience have a right to be included in decision making that affects their lives, and we believe systems are made better when they have a role in the decision making being done. The YSP values authentic engagement, shared power with adults at the table in decision making spaces, and fair compensation for our time and expertise. The immediate goal of the YSP is to partner with service providers across the state to improve services and resources for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness. Our big picture goal is to end youth homelessness in the state of New Hampshire through authentic collaboration with partner agencies. We also recognize the ways our work is creating a model for involving people with lived experience in a wide range of settings. The current vision and mission of YSP will be revised within the next month to better reflect the work we do and how we see our organization growing and expanding.
