Our Purpose

Xinachtli YouthXinachtli youth is a project under the non-profit of Tonatierra. Since the early 90’s the Xinachtli Program has been a vital component of the Indigenous Peoples community empowerment movement of Tonatierra. The Xinachtli program has focused on workshops that focus on Indigenous Ancestral Knowledge. We have created youth programming and a community garden to address the needs of our community. The mission of our community garden is to provide Indigenous educational programming that promotes a healthy lifestyle for youth. Our Community Garden program was developed to provide a safe place for youth to increase their connection with ancestral foods, Indigenous languages, and their overall health.
