The Women of Fishing Families is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to supporting Cape Cod fishing families by providing an active support network, community assistance funds and fisheries eduction.We are a group of women who are all part of fishing families and seafood industry businesses in Chatham, MA. We raise funds through our community to provide emergency financial assistance to fishing families in need.During the Covid-19 outbreak, most of the fishermen and shellfishermen in our community have lost their markets to sell their fish, as most restaurants and hotels have closed during this emergency. Our group is already hearing from fishing famiies who are experiencing impact to their operations.We anticipate the need to provide emergency financial aid will grow quickly, and we're looking for any support to help us help our community.
