Our big picture goal is to make local information in Worcester more accessible, understandable, and relevant so residents can feel informed, connected, and confident engaging in their community. What’s Up Worcester was created in response to a clear gap. Many residents do not have easy access to local news, civic information, or community resources in a way that feels approachable or inclusive. Important decisions, events, and opportunities often go unnoticed or are difficult to understand, which can limit participation and connection. We believe people are more likely to engage in their community when information is clear, consistent, and rooted in their everyday experiences. Our work focuses on breaking down local systems, highlighting community voices, and sharing information in a way that meets people where they are. Ultimately, our goal is to strengthen community awareness and participation by making sure residents have the information they need to better understand their city and the role they can play in it.
