Our Purpose

This is a restorative justice program that believes in the whole child approach.  We use mindfulness techniques such as meditation and yoga to help them learn coping and communication skills.  We also combine nutrition and creative arts into the program to teach children the importance of not only feeding our bodies but feeding our spirit. Each day the children will receive meditation class from a Meditation Leader provided by Zuri Daye Wellness LLC. The program will begin with time where we reflect on feelings whether good or bad.  We will then discuss techniques on how to use meditation to turn all situations to positive outlooks by recognizing our own feels. After meditation the children will then engage in a yoga/movement activity.  The children will be given a creative prompt using techniques such as writing or drawing as a way to self expression. We will also provide a fun healthy snack.  These snacks will mainly consist of a vegetarian diet to help bring awareness to our relationship with food. Our goal is to service 150 children in Bridgeport, CT. We are looking to be in locations such as schools, community centers, and libraries. We would like to make sure every child has an opportunity to locally access this program.
