Western Mass Pollinator Networks

Our Purpose

Pollinator advocates in western Massachusetts joined because of their passion for protecting, revitalizing, and expanding safe habitat by providing healthy food and shelter for pollinating wildlife.  Through the process of passing town resolutions, we are convincing our communities to avoid the use of pesticides and herbicides as much as possible because of the harm caused to our ecosystems.  We create educational events to raise awareness about the needs of pollinators and to inspire communities and land care professionals to change their land management practices and become more proactive for pollinators. To harness our ideas and energy into a focused initiative, we created a central communications team led by a volunteer director, a shared website and information resources, a speakers’ bureau, and social media.  Through our collaborative structure we coordinate events, grassroots outreach and education, streamline our messaging, and promote best practices for sustaining pollinators that are appropriate for both large and small land owners such as municipalities, businesses, and home gardeners.
