Our Purpose

Our purpose is to...protect our area's most precious, natural resource: water. Our reservoirs are in potential danger of being drained by 1.8 million gallons a day, to be sold at a discounted rate by our water municipality, to a for-profit water bottling company. This company will be producing 10 million plastic bottles a DAY. By empowering through education, the surrounding towns, we plan to organize an eight-town water watch group to protect our reservoirs and aquifers from being treated as a commodity to be sold instead of protected for the use of the population it serves. As the climate continues to change and water supplies become more fragile, they must be protected. We have been able to gather the support and energy of volunteers from two Universities in the concerned areas. They  have gathered thousands of names on petitions and are now beginning "Ban the Bottle" campaigns on their campuses. By educating on the school level and by hosting information sessions in our town, we are able to teach about Green Infrastructure as opposed to bottling and selling water to support the infrastructure of our reservoirs.
