Our purpose is to create access to arts, fashion, and creative education for youth and families who are often left out of traditional opportunities. As a Worcester-based nonprofit, WAVVZ NewAge Creative Lab Inc. uses sewing, fashion design, storytelling, and community workshops to build confidence, economic opportunity, and cultural pride among BIPOC, immigrant, and low-income families.WAVVZ formed because we saw a real need in our city: young people with talent but no resources, parents who want creative outlets for their children, and entire communities who deserve to see themselves represented in the arts. We teach practical skills like sewing, pattern-making, upcycling, and creative entrepreneurship, while also building leadership, identity, and community belonging.As part of the larger WAVVZ umbrella, our goal is to create a living local creative economy where youth can turn hobbies into skills, and skills into income. We want to show the next generation that creativity is a pathway to healing, to possibility, to career options, and to community connection.Ultimately, our vision is a Worcester where every child and family has free or low-cost access to high-quality arts education, hands-on fashion workshops, and community showcases that celebrate their stories. WAVVZ NewAge exists to build that pathway and nurture the next generation of makers, designers, leaders, and cultural storytellers.
