Our Purpose

Our original mission in 1915 was to beautify the town green spaces with flowers, trees, benches and shady spots for the whole community to enjoy. Now, we are the stewards of only one park in town called Powers Park. We run an 8 week summer program for 450 children. We offer USTA tennis lessons, Red Cross swim lessons, arts and crafts, afternoon sports, and multiple fun party events throughout the summer. The Bookmobile comes twice a week and the state of Vermont has a free-lunch program on our site. Since this is our Centennial Summer, we are hoping to go back to our original mission of beautification by planting more flowers and trees and installing more benches and picnic tables. Our space is rented throughout the summer on evenings and weekends for family reunions, weddings, corporate picnics, birthday parties and tournaments. This is a big year for us!
