Vermontivate! is an award-winning community game designed to bring fun, collaborative competition, and heaps of ice cream to the serious work of addressing the global climate crisis.  Vermontivate! gets players to explore a series of sustainability challenges ranging from simple and straightforward to wonderfully wild, earning earning points on behalf of their town. At the end, the team with the highest score wins an ice cream party from Ben&Jerry's.   Last May with all volunteers and no budget, we ran a 5-week challenge last May-June with 12 towns across Vermont (Montpelier won). In December, we won a community energy project award from the Vermont Energy and Climate Action Network, and now we're prepping for an even bigger, broader, more widely partnered game this spring, with support from groups ranging like The Nature Conservancy, Front Porch Forum, Efficiency Vermont, VECAN, NOFA, Interfaith Power and Light, Spark Arts, and the Young Writer's Project.
