The group, when still working under the name Friends of Burlington Gardens, received a grant in 2008 to support to establish 3 new community gardens in Burlington to serve as models for Burlington’s Climate Action plan. Burlington has a diverse populations with a number of international refugees and has there is an increased demand for community garden sites.The goal is to engage 30-50 underserved households There are now 25 active community gardens in Burlington and locating potential new sites is a challenge but probable.
