While the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area (UWTVA) has been serving the greater Franklin County area for more than 33 years, its current TerraCycle program has been in existence since January 2012 and while poised to expand, remains under funded. The purpose of UWTVA's TerraCycle program is to increase recycling which in turn reduces the overall amount of waste that enters local landfills. Because the submission of TerraCycle materials provides a cash return this program also provides a source of income for the support of the numerous charities funded by the UWTVA.
