Our Purpose

Our mission has three important principles:- We foster opportunities & training for people to make things. -We are committed to beginning on a path to combining our brains and our hands in service to a more sustainable future. -We have an intentional green agenda, repurposing donated tools & remainder materials. Our 2500 sq ft space has a Wood Shop,  Textile Studio,  Mini Fabrication studio,Art classroom & Mini Maker Studio for children. Resource library of approximately 500 volumes. We run on volunteer power and encourage people to trade hours for memberships. We also offer the opportunity for skilled people to teach in our space for a percentage of the class fee. Our goal is to offer higher level training as we grow our memberships and pursue grant funding. Rent and utilities are extremely costly in this area and space is scarce. Classes that promote repair & reuse are part of our mission. 90% of our equipment are donated second hand. We receive donated fabric and raw materials from business surplus.  Our location is intended to be walkable, near schools and rail trail. We collaborate with local organizations such as Timetrade Network, Repair Cafe, Newburyport Youth Services, Alliance of Climate and Environmental Stewards..
