Our Purpose

to grow fresh vegetables to the food pantries in Newtown, CT. The project is under the umbrella of Parks & Rec. The town gave us 10,000 square feet of public land for the garden, and P&R provided the machines and manpower to cultivate the garden, chain link fencing to protect the garden from deer, irrigation for the garden, top soil for the rows, wood chips for the pathways. Volunteer teams are assigned to "Own a Row." They plant, cultivate, harvest, and deliver their produce to the local food pantries.
