The Mobile Mug was created because we believe every student deserves the opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, build confidence, and be recognized for their abilities. Too often, students with disabilities face limited opportunities to develop real-world job skills before leaving school. We wanted to change that.Our goal is to provide an authentic work-based learning program where students learn by doing. Through operating a mobile coffee and dessert business, students gain hands-on experience in customer service, food preparation, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, money management, and workplace professionalism. More importantly, they discover confidence, independence, and purpose.We also believe inclusion benefits everyone. As our program grows, we are expanding to include general education students who will work alongside and mentor students with disabilities, creating an environment where all students learn from one another.Our long-term vision is to grow The Mobile Mug into a year-round social enterprise with a fully equipped food truck that can serve more communities and create even more opportunities for students. We want to show employers, community members, and our students that disability does not define potential. With the right support, every student can succeed.Ultimately, our mission is simple: to empower students, strengthen our community, and create a future where every young person has the chance to learn, work, and thrive.
