Our purpose is to construct a Healing Garden that will balance built environment, working landscape and wilderness. St. Edward the Confessor and St. Jude are Catholic Parishes of the Archdiocese of Boston. Together they form a Collaborative. The purpose of the St. Edward the Confessor and St. Jude Collaborative is to invite all to know, love and serve God.In 2021, the i THIRST Ministry was initiated. The primary focus of this ministry is providing support to people in recovery from substance use disorders and their families. The Healing Garden is a vision of the i Thirst Ministry. The space will provide a peaceful, welcoming environment suitable for education, conversations, counseling, discussion, contemplation, introspection, mindfulness, meditation and prayer. The Healing Garden is integrated organically in the natural wilderness. The landscape will be beautified with bushes and flowers. Furniture will be added to enhance the space for sitting comfortably outside. So far, the property has been surveyed, cleared, and graded. The next phase is refining and preparing the garden with plantings and seating.The Healing Garden is a sanctuary for individuals, small groups and large group sessions. It is intended to unify, support and serve the community whether or not people are members of either parish.
