The Sustainathon 2024 educational event is to  unite Springfield Technical Community College students, UMASS students, local high school students, and the community to celebrate Earth Day 2024. To educate our future leaders about current Sustainability challenges and solutions to address climate change. The call for action will be reducing CO2 footprint pledges, reducing waste, recycling, conserving resources, and planting trees. The focus will be on creating awareness about the significance of improving energy efficiency, renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, water conservation and protection, reducing pollution, sustainable buildings, and recycling. The three pillars of this event are the research competition, interactive presentations, and a call for action.
