Our Purpose

Our purpose is to...continue to provide for the needs of the people in our small community which has been done for the past 30 plus, and especially now during this time with the increased needs brought about by the Corona virus. The majority of those we serve are the elderly with a sprinkling of young families with children. We have already experienced increased needs each year at this time because of the harsh winter months in Northern Maine and this COVID-19 comes at time when we struggle to keep our food pantry filled.  We would like to keep up with this increased demand for healthy foods.  We would like to provide the necessary food items that disadvantaged families need to feed their families and the influx of those who are not working at this time and not receiving a paycheck.  Having food to feed yourself and your family goes a long way to alleviating the anxiety and fears that are all around us at this time.  This is one thing families can rely on. This is especially true for the elderly who are on fixed incomes and are isolated from family and communtiy members at this time. Children are home from school at this time so the needs food wholesome foods and heathy snacks are increased.  Although the school delivers lunches each day, we need to supplement this. We work with many agencies in our area, but we are the primary source for food distribution.  This grant would help us tremendously.
