Solar Daugher can finally take advantage of the suns power! LD 1444- an article of legislature in Maine has passed to eliminate gross metering and allow community solar farms in Maine! Our project has been on ice until now do to polítical barriers.  Currently we are building a team and are ready to transform our 800 acres of rural land in Warren, Maine to facilitate affordable, net zero, super insulated housing that utilizes solar energy. The project scope is multi phase and multi year, commencing between years 8-10 and will be a collaboration between local Maine contractors, designers, and consultants  for Maine residents to directly benefit. It is truly a community centric initiative and this is the ethos and vision of Solar Daughter. The economics work, the long term and short term costs are contained by building super energy efficient homes that are self-Sustaining.  At the final phase of the project, we will have supplied over 5,000 homes with good clean power and transformed a community. Solar Daughter will utilize and procure the most innovative technologies to serve and solve the changing needs in Maine today.  including but not limited to: adding 150 new jobs over the project lifetime, fostering affordable housing, inspiring entrepreneurship by leasing commercial space to locals, and encouraging real economic growth alongside population growth.
