Our Purpose

recognizing water as a public trust, to prevent large-scale water extraction for resale from the Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Wells Water District's watershed.

Summary of Projects

On June 5, 2008, there appeared in our local newspaper a very small press release from Kenebunk, Kennebunkport, and Wells Water District stating they were to sign a contract with Nestle dba Poland Spring (multinational Nestle has owned Poland Spring since 1992) at their trustee meeting on June 25, 2008. Several of our community leaders asked for and read the Nestle contract and sprang into action. SOH2O received a grant in 2010 to further educate citizens about the importance and vulnerability of our water resources in York County and Maine.
