The group consists of the students enrolled in the Sanford Regional Technical Center's Landscaping and Horticulture Program. Through this Career and Technical Education program students learn greenhouse maintenance, organic gardening, plant sales, Integrated Pest Management, hardscaping techniques, apple orchard management, cut flower sales, ornamental plant care, aquaculture, and more. As a part of our program we grow food for the school's backpack's program and for local food pantries. The goal of the program is to prepare students for the local landscaping and horticulture industry for post-high school employment, and to foster a civic mindedness around land use, stewardship of green spaces, and feeding our neighbors.
