The Stratford St. United Church (SSUC) started the Rose’s Bounty food pantry in 2016 as our major mission in response to the growing problem of food insecurity in the greater Boston area. Rose’s Bounty has grown rapidly since we first opened and now serves over 1,000 individuals every month through four programs: (1) our pantry which is open two days each month, (2) the Chittick Elementary School backpack program which provides meals to low income children during weekends and school vacations, (3) a program which delivers customized packages of food to low income and homeless veterans, and (4) a program targeting the elderly members of our community living with food insecurity.
