(1) to be a regular, healthy source of locally grown and made food for the people of Richmond and surrounding towns at reasonable prices during the summer months.There are only small "quick markets" no outlet for fresh, healthy foods in the town. Hopefully, the farmers' market will grow into an all season venue for local folks. (2) to work with Richmond's Community Downtown Group, the Richmond Area Health Center, local businesses, farmers and craft persons to bring more people to the town's riverfront. For example, a new pilot "music in the park" series will coincide with the farmers' market.
