Revere Youth In Action
Our Purpose
Three of RYiA's primary goals are (1) to expand, formalize and level up youth RYiA’s organizing model and structure, (2) develop or adapt a youth driven research education justice model for measuring racial equity in gateway city school districts, starting with Revere. This will include incorporating youth experiences through writing, art, and civic action, and (3) further develop our curriculum development, EJ work, and programmatic planning through our retreat space at Feliz Corazon Farms.Broadly these goals relate to expanding the organizing and leadership opportunities of Revere young people and their communities. And giving them the space, partnerships and resources to reimagine their education in and out of school. With veteran public educator Dr. Asha Chana's transition from the classroom to Executive Director of RYiA, our organization has an unique opportunity to expand and establish roots in an intentional, youth guided fellowship program that aims to elevate youth voice, impact, and advocacy in their community based on their "heart work".
